Those who were not killed by bombing were killed by hunger in Gaza

The specter of famine has begun to loom large over the besieged Gaza Strip, claiming one child after another. The population is facing critical days after bakeries closed due to a shortage of flour, the World Food Programme (WFP) depleted its food supplies, and drinking water became scarce.

The genocidal war waged by the Israeli occupation in the Gaza Strip for a year and a half is not limited to the continuous missile and artillery bombardment of people and property, indiscriminately targeting both young and old. It has also extended to targeting everything that guarantees the demise of the population. Those who haven’t been killed by the bombing have been killed by hunger or lack of medical care.

Israeli airstrikes on the Strip have been ongoing for two months, with ground operations and displacement orders constantly forcing people to leave their homes. The remaining functioning hospitals are overcrowded and urgent medical supplies are running low.

On top of this, hunger and malnutrition rates have begun to rise dramatically, with empty food warehouses and closed bakeries.
