Yemen bans American oil and threatens violating companies in the Red Sea
Sana’a – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
The Humanitarian Operations Coordination Center (HOCC) in Yemen announced an immediate ban on US crude oil exports, effective May 17, 2025, in response to what it described as the “war crimes” committed by the US in Yemen.
The Executive Director of the Center explained in a press statement that this decision is based on Law No. (5) of 1445 AH regarding the classification of hostile countries, entities, and individuals against the Republic of Yemen and the sanctions list of perpetrators of aggression against Yemen or any Arab or Islamic country.
He pointed out that the American enemy is still carrying out airstrikes on various Yemeni governorates, targeting civilians and civilian objects, resulting in hundreds of martyrs and wounded, including women and children, in addition to targeting the Ras Isa oil port in Hudaydah governorate on April 17, 2025.
He affirmed that these measures come within the legitimate right of the Republic of Yemen to respond to the war crimes committed by the American enemy against the Yemeni people, their infrastructure, and their capabilities.
According to the decision, the export, re-export, transfer, loading, purchase, or sale of American crude oil from American ports, either directly or indirectly, will be banned, including ship-to-ship transfer operations, and the ban will include third parties.
The decision included the possibility of granting exceptions or permits for humanitarian purposes or for countries and companies that oppose the policies and decisions of the US administration by submitting a request to the email
The Center warned that violating the ban decision will result in the imposition of sanctions in accordance with the sanctions list of perpetrators of aggression against Yemen or any Arab or Islamic country, and the violating companies will be included in the sanctions list, and appropriate sanctions will be imposed, and
