Iran threatens to strike US bases and intensifies attacks against Israel
The Iranian “Fars News” agency confirmed today, Sunday, that Tehran is planning a military response targeting the main US base in the region in retaliation for the American aggression.
Follow ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
The agency indicated that Iran intends to intensify its operations against Israel, which it described as “the main base of the US in the Middle East,” within the framework of an expanded strategy to confront American and Zionist influence.
In a related context, American media reports revealed doubts about the effectiveness of the recent strikes that targeted Iranian nuclear facilities. NBC News quoted the US Vice President as not confirming the complete destruction of the Iranian nuclear sites, acknowledging that the strikes only “delayed Iran’s nuclear progress.”
The New York Times also reported, citing an American official, that the strike that targeted the underground “Fordow” facility did not destroy it completely, raising questions about the success of the American military operation.
For his part, Scott Ritter, a former US Marine officer, attacked the recent strikes and described them as “theatrical and inconclusive,” indicating that they only achieved “saving face” for US President Donald Trump.
Ritter emphasized in a television interview that the United States “failed to strike a significant blow to Iran,” considering that any settlement of the current situation will be a victory for Tehran and not a defeat for it, and he criticized what he described as the “international chaos caused by Washington,” considering that this has undermined its credibility in the file of nuclear non-proliferation.
