Gaza – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
The Al-Shifa Medical Complex, one of the largest health centers in the Gaza Strip, announced on Tuesday the complete suspension of kidney dialysis services due to the depletion of fuel, with the reduction of intensive care services to limited hours only.
The Ministry of Health warned that the continued interruption of fuel means “potential death” for hundreds of patients and injured people who depend on vital medical devices.
In a press statement issued today, the ministry confirmed that the health system in Gaza is facing a suffocating crisis due to the scarcity of fuel, which it attributes to the restrictive policy of the Israeli occupation in preventing the entry of medical supplies and fuel into the Strip.
It indicated that the cessation of kidney dialysis exposes the lives of dozens of patients to the risk of death, while the intensive care departments are operating at the minimum possible capacity.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health renewed its call to international organizations and the international community to take urgent action to ensure the flow of fuel and medical supplies, warning of a complete collapse of the health system if this situation continues.
It called for “bearing humanitarian responsibility to protect the lives of civilians,” especially amid the escalation of humanitarian crises in the besieged Strip.
