Gaza Dozens of wounded die daily due to a shortage of blood units in hospitals

Hospitals in the Gaza Strip are struggling to provide comprehensive medical services to the wounded, injured, and sick. This is due to a shortage of equipment and medicines, particularly blood units.
Blood transfusions for the wounded and sick in hospitals and medical facilities are severely depleted due to the ongoing war and the difficulty blood banks face in replenishing depleted supplies. This is compounded by a decline in citizens’ willingness to donate blood due to malnutrition and fear of hospitals, which are now vulnerable to being targeted at any time.
As a result of the increasing number of cases arriving daily to Gaza hospitals, due to the continued indiscriminate and deliberate bombing of populated areas and homes, dozens of wounded people are arriving at hospitals at any moment, a large majority of whom need blood units, due to their exposure to severe bleeding.
Currently, the Israeli army controls the Indonesian Hospital, Kamal Adwan Hospital, and Al-Awda Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip, in addition to demolishing many clinics and small medical centers. This encroachment has created a state of frustration and despair among the citizens, after northern Gaza was transformed from the most densely populated areas, to empty and lifeless areas, while its residents have come to rely for treatment on Gaza City hospitals, which are already witnessing a large crowding of wounded and sick people, with a severe shortage of services.
