American website warns of the Yemen quagmire

The American website “Fox” warned in an extensive report that the military campaign led by the United States against Yemen under the name “Untamed Knight Operation” may drag Washington into another “quagmire” in the Middle East, contrary to President Trump’s pledges to end the “forever wars.”

The report said that the Houthis announced a temporary halt to their attacks on shipping when the ceasefire in Gaza came into effect last January, but they resumed the attacks in early March in response to the occupation’s ban on aid entering Gaza, adding that despite the relative calm in the Red Sea since the start of ” Untamed Knight Operation,” the Houthis have vowed to continue fighting and have launched several missiles and drones at Israel.
The report pointed out that the resources allocated to the conflict were substantial, as the Pentagon moved a second aircraft carrier group to the region to join another already there, in addition to deploying at least two Patriot missile batteries and the THAAD missile defense system from Asia to the Middle East.
The website questioned how long the US will continue this operation if the Houthis do not back down from their attacks in the near future, while the Wall Street Journal recently reported that officials are considering gradually reducing the strikes.
