American website MQ 9 Reaper falls in Yemen and exposes the failure of the US

An American official told the ABC News website about a worrying increase in the number of American drones shot down over Yemen by the Houthi group, while congressional staff recently reported that the air strike campaign has achieved only limited success.

The official said that six advanced MQ-9 Reaper drones belonging to the US Air Force were shot down since March 15, the date on which the Trump administration launched an intensive air campaign against the Houthi group, which controls large parts of the country.
He added that the total number of Reaper drones shot down by the Houthis since the beginning of March this year reached seven, six of which were shot down since the launch of the air campaign on March 15, and three aircraft in the past week.
The website noted that this announcement comes amid the US military’s secrecy about the details of the air strike campaign launched by the Trump administration, which it described as “much wider” than any campaign carried out during the Biden administration.
The website said the cost of the air campaign had risen significantly with the transfer of more military assets to the region, as US officials reported that spending on ammunition reached about $200 million in early April, and costs are expected to soon exceed $1 billion.
