21tanks in 24 hours American magazine Israeli incursion stumbles under Hezbollah s strikes and heavy tank losses
The “Israeli” occupation forces have suffered heavy losses in their tanks during confrontations in southern Lebanon, as the American magazine “Military Watch,” specialized in military and defense affairs, confirmed that 21 “Merkava” main battle tanks were destroyed within just 24 hours, resulting from qualitative ambushes executed by Hezbollah fighters against the penetrating forces.
Follow-ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
According to the American magazine, the bulk of these losses occurred during a single battle between the towns of Al-Taybeh and Al-Qantara when occupation forces attempted to advance and impose control over the area before falling into a carefully laid ambush that led to the destruction of 10 Merkava tanks alongside military bulldozers, a scene reflecting the scale of field failure and operational confusion.
In parallel, Hezbollah continues to carry out regular artillery and rocket attacks on northern occupied territories as part of a burning front opened by the party concurrently with the start of the American-Israeli aggression on Iran, placing the occupation in front of a multi-front attrition equation.
Indications suggest that the ground operation announced by occupation forces on March 2, aimed at advancing to the Litani River, hasn’t achieved its declared objectives but rather revealed unprecedented fragility in the occupation’s capabilities to engage in ground battles in a complex environment, despite its air superiority and its attempts to implement the “scorched earth” policy it previously employed in the Gaza Strip.
These losses, according to estimates reported by the magazine, reflect a qualitative shift in the course of the confrontation, as “Merkava” tanks — which have long symbolized Zionist military superiority — are no longer immune to targeting and destruction, placing the occupation’s leadership before escalating strategic challenges amid the expanding scope and intensifying pace of the engagement.
