160international organizations call for lifting the Israeli blockade on Gaza

160ـnon-governmental organizations called for immediate action to terminate the destructive U.S. distribution program, including the so-called Gaza Humanitarian Foundation in Gaza, urging a return to existing coordination mechanisms led by the United Nations and lifting the blockade imposed by the Israeli government on aid and commercial supplies.

The organizations indicated that Israel replaced the four hundred aid distribution points that were operating during the temporary ceasefire across Gaza with only four distribution sites controlled by the army, noting that more than two million people have been forced to flee to crowded military areas and face heavy fire daily and mass injuries while trying to obtain food, and they are being deprived of other life-saving supplies.

The joint statement was issued in Geneva, where 160 charities and humanitarian organizations signed a call directed at countries to pressure Israel to lift its blockade on Gaza. The statement read .. Palestinians in Gaza today face an impossible choice: either die of hunger or be shot while desperately trying to obtain food to feed their families.
