The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sana’a, Abdul Wahid Abu Ras, warned on Wednesday of the danger of “Israeli” moves in the Horn of Africa region, pointing out that they aim to tear apart Somalia’s unity and turn its lands into an arena for regional and international conflicts.

The Saba news agency quoted Abu Ras as affirming that the security of Yemen and the region is a “red line” and that ignoring these moves will have a heavy cost.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sana’a, Abu Ras, stated that Yemen is monitoring what he described as “Zionist activities” in the Hargeisa and Berbera areas.
He noted that there are local parties seeking to turn those areas into international operational platforms managed by the Israeli occupation at the expense of the Somali people.
Abu Ras affirmed that these moves aim to dismantle Somalia’s unity and sovereignty and turn its lands into a conflict zone serving the interests of international and regional powers, warning that their repercussions will not be limited to the Somali interior alone but will extend to the entire region.
He added that “the Israeli entity seeks to establish a foothold in the heart of the Horn of Africa at the expense of the blood and capabilities of the Somali people,” pointing out that this project poses a direct threat to regional national security and could lead to a widespread explosion in the region.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sana’a affirmed that Yemen possesses the will and ability to protect its strategic security and its readiness to cooperate with various parties to contribute to the stability of the region and the safety of its peoples.
