The Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth revealed today, Sunday, an unprecedented wave of internal displacement in the cities of the central and northern occupied territories, amidst the escalation of missile attacks launched from Iran and Hezbollah and the widening scope of threats on several fronts.
Follow-ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
The newspaper pointed to the flow of thousands of settlers towards the city of Eilat seeking safety; however, the recurring sound of sirens dashed the hopes of many after dozens of warnings were recorded within just one week.
The newspaper quoted one of the fugitives from Jerusalem as saying that “going to shelters is no longer useful,” indicating the growing feeling of helplessness and fear among the population as the shelling continues.
The wave of displacement also reached the residents of Kiryat Shmona near the Lebanese border, after their areas were subjected to continuous attacks, prompting many of them to move to hotels in Eilat, which witnessed overcrowding and the closure of some of its facilities due to security and economic conditions.
For his part, the mayor of Eilat, Eli Lankri, admitted that the city is still under strict defensive measures, confirming the inability to reopen schools or return to normal life.
These developments, according to the newspaper, reflect the widening circle of anxiety within Israeli towns, with a growing feeling that the war has reached various regions and that cities once considered far from the confrontation have become part of the conflict zone.
