Wide Arab and Western Boycott of the Saudi American Coalition in the Red Sea

Saudi Arabia suffered a setback on Thursday with the decision of countries, most of which are riparian, to boycott its American coalition in the Red Sea.

Saudi Arabia officially announced the launch of the coalition.
Saudi media reported that Riyadh hosted a meeting of the leaders of the new coalition.
The participating countries are the US and Saudi Arabia only, while the rest are merely marginal, notably Bahrain, a faction of the Sudanese army, in addition to Kuwait, Jordan, Morocco, Bangladesh, New Zealand, and the Maldives.
The coalition was absent of the Red Sea riparian countries, most notably Djibouti, Eritrea, Egypt, and Somalia, even though some of those countries are allies of Saudi Arabia.
Major countries such as Pakistan, Turkey, the UAE, and Qatar also boycotted the Saudi coalition.
No Western country, including Britain, which manages the Yemen file, was recorded.
The countries participating in the new coalition are far fewer than Saudi Arabia had aspired to, having previously spoken of seeking the participation of 50 countries.
The majority of these countries were invoked in previous American and British coalitions, and their role is limited to providing international cover for the new escalation, nothing more.
Although no statements were issued from the meeting regarding its next steps, it was considered an attempt by Saudi Arabia to showcase itself to escape the predicament in the Red Sea and pressure towards a diplomatic horizon to extract itself.
