Iran threatens to sink the Lincoln while encircling it and the first Gulf state declares its coastline a military zone as preemptive operations are anticipated

The war with Iran took a new turn on Sunday as the US sought to sound the drums of war on land and Iran prepared a surprise by taking the battle to what it considers enemy territory.

Iran has once again placed the US aircraft carrier “Abraham Lincoln,” stationed in the Arabian Sea, at the top of its targets.
The commander of the Iranian Navy, Admiral Shahram Irani, vowed to target the “Lincoln” as soon as it comes within missile range, considering the anticipated operation as revenge for the blood of the martyrs of the Iranian frigate “Dana,” which was targeted off the coast of Sri Lanka.
Irani confirmed that Iran is encircling the American battleship, explaining that all its positions and movements, as well as its requests to countries in the region, were subject to close and immediate monitoring by Iran.
Irani’s remarks came a day after an Iranian operation targeted US military ships, including supply ships attempting to replenish provisions and fuel from Gulf states, specifically the UAE.
The re-inclusion of the “Lincoln” on Iran’s list of targets coincides with anticipation of a US attempt at a ground assault on Iranian islands.
The US has deployed thousands of soldiers to the Middle East as part of preparations for a ground campaign, according to the Washington Post, which quoted defense officials as saying they were preparing to give President Trump ground operational options as negotiations fail.
The Iranian steps indicate its readiness to launch strong strikes against the American aggression on land, having already succeeded in thwarting US plans by air and sea.
These moves have raised concerns among America’s allies in the region, particularly those countries that America has placed on the front line.
