For five consecutive days, Gaza City has been experiencing a severe water crisis, following the interruption of the main line located within the so-called “Yellow Line” (which cuts more than half of the city’s area),which feeds the region with about 70% of its daily needs. This interruption exacerbated the crisis in an unprecedented way, at a time when the city was mainly suffering from a deficit of about 70% as a result of the widespread destruction of water networks and wells during the war. The suspension of the main line prevented hundreds of thousands of citizens from reaching the remaining homes and shelters, forcing families to rely on limited or unusable salt water, in light of the scarcity of alternatives and the high cost of purchasing water transported through tanks, which are now superior. The capacity of the exhausted population of the population is difficult for difficult living conditions. The crisis is directly reflected in the details of daily life, as families are unable to provide their minimum basic needs (drinking, cooking, hygiene),which portend serious health repercussions, especially with the overcrowding of the displaced and the spread of diseases in shelters and overcrowded neighborhoods. The stifling crisis has also increased the suffering of displaced people living in tents, who are already suffering from severe water scarcity. They have to transport them daily through plastic containers, on long, arduous journeys, amid devastating roads and heavy crowds.
