The Tenth of Its Kind Sana a Forces Down a Saudi Reconnaissance Aircraft in Taiz

The Sana’a forces announced on Wednesday the downing of a Saudi armed reconnaissance aircraft of the “Wing Loong 2” type, while it was carrying out hostile acts in the airspace of Taiz Governorate at dawn today.

The spokesman for the Sana’a forces, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, explained that the aircraft is the tenth of the same type that the forces have downed since the start of the Saudi escalation, in a development that represents a new blow to the Saudi air force.

The downing of the aircraft comes in the context of the military escalation between Saudi Arabia and the Sana’a forces, which witnessed during the recent hours the announcement by the Sana’a forces of carrying out missile and aerial operations that targeted Saudi military sites and mobilizations in Al-Jawf, Jizan, and Najran, noting that they caused dozens of dead and wounded.
They also announced the targeting of King Khalid International Airport in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, in conjunction with the renewal of their warning against traveling through Saudi airspace, with the exception of the airspace of Mecca and Medina.
