Targeting the strategic Stella Maris base in Haifa is a strike against the occupation s maritime domain
Follow-ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon announced the execution of an aerial attack with a squadron of pounce drones targeting the Stella Maris naval base northwest of the city of Haifa, as part of the series of “Chewed Up Straw” operations it is carrying out against sites belonging to the Israeli occupation army.
The Resistance explained that the operation on Wednesday targeted the base, which is considered one of the most prominent naval installations of the occupation on the northern coast of the Mediterranean Sea and is used as a main center for maritime surveillance and control and for managing military activities in the region.
Stella Maris Base:
Stella Maris Base is located on Carmel Hill overlooking the coast in Haifa. It is a strategic naval facility that supervises the northern maritime domain, housing operational and logistical facilities that support the activity of the Israeli navy in the region.
The base includes a number of important naval units, among them the submarine fleet known as the Seventh Fleet; the Third Missile Ship Flotilla, in addition to Squadron 914 specialized in maritime security missions; and the underwater missions unit, along with training and technical facilities and logistical and administrative support units.
Estimates also indicate the presence of naval intelligence activity within the base responsible for gathering information from the maritime domain in northern occupied Palestine, enhancing its role as a command-and-control center for naval activities associated with Haifa Port and the northern maritime arena.
The base had previously been subjected to several attacks in October 2024 when the Lebanese resistance carried out missile strikes as part of the “Khyber” series of operations due to its strategic importance in managing the movement of military ships and coordinating the occupation’s naval operations in the northern Mediterranean.
