Oil and gas tankers targeted in attacks near Hormuz Who is behind it and why now

Several oil and gas tankers were attacked in the vicinity of the Strait of Hormuz, near the Omani coast, in recent hours, in successive incidents that have returned tension to the vital waterway.
A British maritime authority reported that 3 oil tankers were struck in the Strait of Hormuz within 24 hours.
Earlier, the authority stated that it had received a report of a Saudi-flagged oil tanker being hit by an unknown projectile, indicating that it may have sustained structural damage, with no reports of casualties or environmental impact.
This came after the targeting of a Qatari liquefied natural gas tanker named “Al-Rukayat.”
Observers and analysts consider the most likely hypothesis to be that these ships violated the transit rules imposed by Tehran on the strait, prompting the Revolutionary Guard to “punish” them, according to what the “Fars” agency indicated.
They base this on repeated Iranian statements that any ship not complying with the “Iranian arrangement” will face consequences, which appears to have indeed occurred with these tankers.
Tehran had repeatedly affirmed that “the Strait of Hormuz will not return to its previous state” and that “others have no choice but to comply with Iran’s orders in the strait.”
The Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister, Kazem Gharibabadi, had also stressed days ago that “Iran determines the transit routes in the Strait of Hormuz, and if a ship wants to pass through another route, we will prevent it,” adding that “Iran will not allow any country to interfere in the mine-clearing operation in the Strait of Hormuz.”
However, other observers do not rule out the possibility that other parties are behind these attacks, with the aim of finding pretexts and justifications to confuse the situation for Iran and undermine the gains it has achieved, especially the significant
