A series of explosions rocked the largest air base in eastern Yemen on Tuesday.
This coincides with the continuation of Yemeni operations against Saudi mobilizations in coalition areas in the west and east of the country.
Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
Local sources reported that the explosions were heard at Al-Rayyan Airport, which Saudi forces use as an air base in eastern Yemen. Those sources indicated that drones were seen flying over the airport at the same time as ground anti-aircraft defenses were activated.
It isn’t yet known what happened and whether the aircraft were reconnaissance or if the airport was subjected to aerial strikes.
The airport houses weapons warehouses and drones operated by Saudi forces and foreign officers.
Although the developments in Mukalla are the first since Yemen began striking Saudi mobilizations in the governorate’s desert a week ago, they also coincided with the continuation of Yemeni operations in Al-Mokha, located on the country’s western coast.
Local sources in the city reported the sound of explosions following the sighting of ballistic missiles in the city’s sky.
Al-Mokha is one of several cities witnessing Saudi mobilizations and concentrated Yemeni strikes that have succeeded in destroying many of them.
If claimed by Sana’a forces, the developments in Hadhramaut would be an indicator of the expansion of the Yemeni operation into the depth of Saudi mobilization areas in eastern Yemen.
