From Aden the Story Began Adel Bamousa From Studying and Working to Sharing Knowledge

Adel Ahmed Omar Bamousa is a friend who is like a dear brother to me. We have been friends since 2003, when he was a second-year student at the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Aden. He was kind, respectful, helpful, and very ambitious.

We used to meet at his place in Khormaksar with our friends Lutfi Al-Beidh, his uncle Abdullah, and some other young men. We spent many good times together. After I finished my university studies in Aden and moved to Sana’a, he welcomed me into his apartment on Hail Street, where I stayed with him for two months.

I still remember some of the things that happened during that period. One day, the apartment was broken into and some valuable things were stolen, including a new digital camera that he used to take pictures of the places he visited. We had to leave the apartment that same day and move the furniture to the home of one of my relatives.

On another occasion, he came with me to my village in the northern countryside of Taiz. We left at around eight in the evening and arrived at dawn. We stayed there for three days. We enjoyed the village atmosphere, and he took pictures with my brothers and some of the people in the village, young and old, so we could remember the trip. We also walked through the valleys and climbed the mountain.

Our friendship has remained strong despite the distance and all these years, and I hope it always will. A week ago, I contacted him and asked for his permission to write this article.

After Adel finished high school in 2000, he dreamed of studying dentistry, but he had not yet decided where he would go to continue his studies.
