Sana a 408 Commercial Ships Crossed Bab Al Mandeb in 10 Days

The Ministry of Transport and Public Works in the Sana’a government affirmed today, Wednesday, that 408 international commercial ships crossed the Bab Al-Mandeb Strait during the period from September 11 to 21, at a rate of about 40 ships per day, in an indication of the stability of maritime navigation movement.

The ministry explained in a statement that the transit movement took place smoothly and safely for international commercial ships, except for ships belonging to the Saudi coalition.
It noted that 196 ships crossed northbound, compared to 212 ships southbound.
It affirmed that international navigation and trade movement through the Bab Al-Mandeb Strait is proceeding normally and safely.
Sana’a’s Transport Ministry said that “these data refute the claims and rumors aimed at intimidating shipping companies and affecting navigation movement.”
The statement comes at a time when Sana’a affirms that maritime navigation in the Red Sea and Bab Al-Mandeb is safe for international shipping companies, except for Saudi ships, which it says it had previously announced a ban on their passage.
