Russian media Yemeni drones impose a new equation and target Saudi Abrams tanks
Russian media reports, citing the “Dzen.ru” site, reported notable field developments in Yemen, represented by the Yemeni forces targeting “Abrams” tanks and Saudi military vehicles using drones, bringing back challenges for expensive conventional weapons in the face of low-cost, highly maneuverable technologies.
Exclusive Follow-ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
The Russian site mentioned that these developments come amid escalating tension and Saudi military preparations that began in the spring of this year, which included recruiting fighters and increasing American weapons purchases to fight a ground war, in parallel with rearranging influence in areas outside Sana’a’s control.
The report indicated that the active military operations launched in August in Marib, Taiz, and Hudaydah governorates revealed a qualitative development in the capabilities of the “Ansar Allah” movement in the field of modern warfare, especially the development of independent units to operate FPV drones and drones dedicated to dropping munitions.
According to an analysis by the “National Security Services Group” site, quoted by the Russian source, the scenes of burning Saudi M1A2S Abrams tanks and Bradley vehicles bring to mind the losses incurred by the coalition in previous years, and raise questions about the nature of the sources of expertise and training that the Yemeni forces have acquired and their precise field deployment.
The report concluded that the current confrontation represents a real test of Saudi military capabilities and strategy and places the region before a new phase in which “drone warfare” may impose a different field equation on the ground.
