A senior Russian official advises Saudi Arabia to avoid war with the Houthis and reveals the reasons

The former Russian ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Andrey Baklanov, offered several pieces of advice to Riyadh, urging it to avoid war with the “Houthis” in Yemen, pointing out that the “Houthis” have become more powerful than in previous times, and that any new attacks against them will not achieve their objectives.
The Deputy of the Vice Speaker of the Russian Federation Council and Head of the Association of Russian Diplomats, Andrey Baklanov, said: “It is much better for Riyadh not to wage war again against Sana’a, and instead to seek peaceful means of settlement.” This came in an interview with the Russian agency “Vestnik Kavkaza.”
The Russian agency reported that Saudi Arabia is currently making extensive preparations to resume the war on Yemen, indicating that if war breaks out again between Sana’a and Riyadh, it will be an all-out war, more dangerous than ever.
In response to the question: “Does Saudi Arabia need a new war with Yemen?” the Russian diplomat, Andrey Baklanov, said that the Saudi army has repeatedly raised the issue of launching a large-scale military operation in Yemen. However, the reality confirms that this military operation, if it occurs, will rebound on the Kingdom. Baklanov believes that Sana’a has long anticipated confrontations with Saudi Arabia and has studied this scenario thoroughly, possessing many options and strengths.
He added: “As is known, the Houthis specialize in guerrilla warfare methods, and therefore traditional military strategy is ineffective against them and does not succeed in confronting them. Even missile attacks and airstrikes do not achieve sufficient effectiveness against them and are of no use against them due to Ansar Allah’s ability to hide their activities and locations from surveillance.”
