The human rights organization Al-Bidar reported that the Israeli occupation has deported the last three remaining families from the “Shalal Al-‘Auja” Bedouin community in the northern Jordan Valley of the occupied West Bank, thereby completing the displacement of all approximately 120 Palestinian families.
Follow-ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
The organization emphasized, in a statement on Saturday, that what occurred in the community constitutes a fully-fledged crime of forced displacement and a flagrant violation of the provisions of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions.
It pointed out that the displacement occurred in several successive stages, where families were forced to leave their homes and tents one after another under the pressure of continuous settler violence and a systematic policy of intimidation and terror aimed at breaking the residents’ steadfastness and forcing them into forced displacement.
It explained that the community has been subjected, since its establishment, to a long series of serious violations, including repeated raids, physical assaults, and direct threats to residents, especially women and children.
The community was also subjected to vandalism of property, caravans, and livestock pens; the theft and poisoning of sheep; the restriction of water sources and pastures; and the daily pursuit of shepherds, which turned the lives of the residents into a state of constant fear and insecurity.
Al-Bidar, a human rights organization, confirmed that the final stage of displacement occurred today, when the dismantling of the tent of international solidarity activists that was present in the community for the purpose of protection and human rights monitoring, coinciding with the relocation of the last three families. This step aimed to completely empty the area of any Palestinian or solidarity presence.
It held the occupation authorities fully responsible for this crime, calling on the international community, human rights and humanitarian institutions, and UN rapporteurs to intervene
