Saudi Arabia resumes imposing an air blockade on Emirati factions in Eastern Yemen
Saudi Arabia resumed imposing an air blockade on the strongholds of Emirati factions in eastern Yemen on Thursday. This coincides with the failure to implement an agreement regarding its withdrawal amid the intensifying crisis with the Emirates.
Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
Yemenia Airways confirmed receiving directives to suspend flights, explaining that it was preparing for a new flight from Seiyun Airport in the oil Hadramout plateau to the Egyptian capital and was forced to cancel it due to recent developments.
The closure of Seiyun Airport adds to a previous Saudi decision to close Al-Rayyan and Aden airports, all of which fall within areas under UAE control.
The airport closure decision carries strong messages for the “Transitional Council” and also confirms the failure of the agreement with the Emirates, which the head of the Saudi delegation had spoken about earlier on Wednesday, which includes the withdrawal of the Transitional Council’s factions from eastern Yemen.
The air blockade is one of the anticipated Saudi scenarios for a gradual escalation against the “Transitional Council.”
