A bad day for the US Air Force Reports reveal multiple attacks targeting different aircraft
Media sources circulated on Friday information about a series of aerial incidents targeting a number of US Air Force aircraft in various parts of the Middle East, a development reflecting a high level of operational tension.

The incidents included the downing of an F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jet in southwestern Iran, where the pilot was rescued, while the weapon systems officer (WSO) remains missing, with search operations ongoing.
Also reported was the downing of an A-10 Thunderbolt II attack aircraft in Gulf waters after being struck, where the pilot was retrieved and rescued according to reports.
In a third incident, an HH-60G Pave Hawk combat rescue helicopter was struck while conducting a Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) mission, forcing it to make an emergency landing inside Iraqi territory, with confirmation that the crew survived.
In a related context, in-flight emergencies were recorded for several aircraft, including KC-135 Stratotanker refueling aircraft that issued a Squawk 7700 emergency call twice near Tel Aviv, indicating malfunctions or emergency conditions.
Sources also reported an emergency declaration for an F-16C Fighting Falcon aircraft (the “Wild Weasel” version, specialized in suppressing air defenses) while flying over Saudi airspace near the Iraqi border, before it subsequently disappeared from tracking systems.
