It appears that matters are heading towards a new and dangerous phase of complexity and field escalation between Sana’a and Riyadh, amid increasing indicators that may push towards a comprehensive confrontation.
This hypothesis emerged strongly following the unprecedented Saudi aggressive escalation in nearly five years against five Yemeni governorates earlier this week, and the wide-scale Yemeni military response it met, targeting the Saudi economic, military, and vital nerve in the south of the Kingdom. This places the two countries, and perhaps the region, on the threshold of a pivotal and decisive phase, unless urgent political variables emerge that guarantee the conditions for de-escalation and achieve the entitlements of peace.
Comprehensive Saudi Escalation, and a Shocking Yemeni Response:
The Saudi regime escalated its aggressive raids on Yemen in recent days intensively and in an unprecedented manner since 2022, launching more than 120 raids on various areas in the governorates of Al-Jawf, Marib, Hudaydah, Taiz, and Al-Bayda, according to what the spokesman for the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, revealed.
