The head of the Palestinian NGO Network, Amjad al-Shawa, stated that the humanitarian situation is becoming increasingly complex and difficult for the residents of the Gaza Strip due to the continued closure of the Rafah crossing and the lack of necessary humanitarian aid entering the territory.

In press statements monitored by Palestine Online, al-Shawa explained that at least 18,500 people urgently need medical treatment abroad.

He called on US Middle East envoys Steve Wittkopf and Jared Kushner to work towards the immediate entry of aid, noting that 90% of the Gaza Strip’s population relies directly on aid.

He added, “Many children in the Gaza Strip have fallen ill due to the cold, and some have died.”
