Four Palestinians were killed, two of them in an Israeli airstrike that targeted a tent sheltering displaced people in Khan Younis. The Israeli army continued to violate the fragile ceasefire agreement with a series of airstrikes and artillery shelling across various areas of the Gaza Strip.
Medical sources reported that two Palestinians were killed when an Israeli drone struck a tent sheltering displaced people in the Mawasi al-Qarara area, northwest of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.
Earlier on Monday, two Palestinians were killed and others injured when a five-story building collapsed in the al-Maghazi refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.
A medical source at al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital confirmed the arrival of two bodies. Civil Defense teams in the Central Governorate reported that rescue crews recovered five people, including one in critical condition, from the collapse of the al-Shana family home in the camp.
Meanwhile, the Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip announced the suspension of its emergency response calls to remove hazards from buildings damaged by Israeli airstrikes due to fuel shortages and a lack of rescue equipment. In a press statement, he explained that since the ceasefire agreement began last October, his teams have managed to remove hazards from approximately 3,445 buildings and residential homes that posed a threat to the lives of residents and displaced persons in various parts of the Gaza Strip.
The agency noted that there are still some 1,560 pending appeals for assistance regarding damaged buildings awaiting clearance, due to ongoing restrictions on the operational capacity of civil defense teams.
