A Palestinian human rights center warns of escalating Israeli measures in Hebron

The Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) warned on Saturday of the escalating measures imposed by Israeli forces on the city of Hebron, including home evictions, arrests, raids, and severe restrictions on the movement of residents.

In a statement published on its Facebook page, the PCHR explained that Israeli forces notified residents of homes within the 350-dunam area designated on a map published by the Israeli military coordinator that the area remains under strict military control.

The statement noted the continued raids and searches of homes, the tampering with their contents, and the placement of flags on houses raided and red markers on houses searched after their inspection.

The PCHR added that in the early hours of Saturday morning, Israeli forces launched a large-scale arrest campaign in the center of Hebron and surrounding towns, villages, and refugee camps, detaining dozens of Palestinians. Those arrested were taken to Israeli military camps and detention centers on the outskirts of the city and subjected to interrogation before some were released later that morning.
