Hebrew newspaper A miserable failure of the Iron Dome against new advanced Yemeni cluster missiles

Israeli and international media reports have revealed the failure of the Iron Dome system “Arrow 3” to intercept a sophisticated cluster missile launched by the Yemeni armed forces on Saturday evening.

The Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth quoted military sources as saying that “two or three attempts to intercept the missile failed,” noting that the launch of this type of missile was surprising as it had not been used before.
In the same context, the Associated Press quoted an Israeli Air Force official as confirming that “the new Yemeni missile carries fragmentation ammunition designed to explode into several explosives,” noting that “the use of fragmentation missiles makes interception more difficult and represents additional technology for the Yemenis.”
The reports added that military estimates indicate that the missile was launched in an irregular trajectory and released bombs, posing a new challenge to Israeli defense systems.
The Hebrew newspaper quoted its sources as saying, “It is not certain that the Israeli response will be sufficient,” referring to the new technical challenge posed by these advanced Yemeni missiles.
