A new coronavirus like virus is spreading in Gaza

A new strain of the virus is spreading among the population, particularly children, in the Gaza Strip. Its symptoms are similar to those prevalent during the COVID-19 pandemic, but are now more deadly due to malnutrition, famine, and the blockade imposed on the Strip.

Health officials in Gaza reported that these infections are increasing daily, due to severely weakened immunity and the inability of hospitals to deal with cases with these symptoms.

The ongoing Israeli aggression since October 2023 and the lack of essential medicines due to the ongoing blockade and targeting of the medical sector are also exacerbating the patient crisis.
