The Israeli Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) published a report, addressing the events and military developments witnessed in the southern Yemeni governorates, considering that what happened opens a strategic window for Israel into Yemeni territory.
Exclusive Follow-ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
The report indicated that, for Israel in the short term, what happened will not eliminate the threat and arsenal of Sana’a’s forces, which are antagonistic to Israel, but it could provide a space for normalizing relations with the Emirati-backed Transitional Council.
The report stated that what happened in the south is an Emirati step that Israel can benefit from, as the Saudi-backed government and the Emirati-backed Transitional Council control the Bab Al-Mandeb Strait, which it described as Israel’s vital maritime domain.
The report confirmed that this step highlights the Saudi failure built since 2015, with a weak and fragmented coalition reliant on external factors, according to the report’s description. In contrast, the Ansar Allah forces controlling Sana’a stand as an organized and heavily armed military and security force.
The report concluded by stating that Israel can benefit from what happened in the south by leveraging the Emirates, pointing to the earlier announcement by Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, the leader of the Southern Transitional Council, who had previously announced his desire to join normalization agreements.
