The long queues in front of the bakeries in the Gaza Strip returned to draw one of the harshest forms of suffering as a result of the flour crisis, and the closing of the doors of a number of bakeries, as a result of the Israeli occupation’s closure of the crossings in the face of basic foodstuffs. This created a state of panic, which brought to the minds of the Gazans the features of the famine that the sector witnessed during the genocidal war that has been going on since October 2023, despite the ceasefire on October 10, 2025. The bread crisis doubled with The supply of flour and fuel has stopped for more than a week, and bakeries have been unable to continue working, as the Gaza Strip Bakery Association announced that the warehouses of flour in the warehouses have been completely out of order, and that seven bakeries are still operating out of twenty bakeries. At the same time, warning that the rest of the bakeries will stop working within a few days, unless the crisis is over, and the crossings are opened to the new quantities of flour. The intensification of the crisis is manifested by the increase in the length of the queues in front of some bakeries that are still operating according to their ability. What further complicates the matter is the threat to stop all bakeries if the occupation authorities continue to prevent the entry of basic foodstuffs, most notably flour, vegetables and fruits.

In the Gaza Strip, it has become difficult to obtain a loaf of bread, as citizens are forced to line up from the early morning hours in front of the operating bakeries or the points of selling bread, without making sure to return home or to the tent with enough
