Lebanon 16 000 dead and wounded in the aggression

The Lebanese Ministry of Health’s Emergency Operations Center announced that “the cumulative death toll from the aggression from March 2nd to August 16th has reached 4,346, with 12,301 wounded.”

This toll comes amidst an Israeli escalation of shelling, airstrikes, and incursions aimed at seizing control of Ali al-Taher Hill, a strategic location overlooking the Nabatieh region, which portends further military developments.

Political sources considered this wave of escalation on the ground to be the most extensive and dangerous since the announcement of the framework agreement between Lebanon and Israel on June 26th. They added, “It seems clear that southern Lebanon, and perhaps even areas beyond, are now on the verge of igniting the anticipated battle on and around the Ali al-Taher Heights.”
