Israel used American weapons in Gaza that caused thousands of Palestinians to evaporate

An investigation by Al Jazeera, based on evidence gathered by civil defense teams in the Gaza Strip, concluded that approximately 3,000 Palestinians were “incinerated” as a result of Israel’s use of thermobaric weapons, some supplied by the United States.

According to Al Jazeera’s report on Tuesday, the investigation documented the deaths of 2,842 Palestinians due to the “systematic use of internationally prohibited thermobaric and thermo-pressure weapons, known as vacuum or air bombs, capable of generating temperatures exceeding 3,500 degrees Celsius.”

Investigators noted that the intense heat generated by these weapons is so extreme that in many cases, they leave behind no identifiable human remains, except for bloodstains or small fragments of tissue.

Israel’s use of this type of weapon was brought to light last year through a social media post by Gaza pharmacist Omar Hammad, who shared a video showing – according to him – the detonation of a thermobaric bomb in Beit Hanoun, in the northern Gaza Strip.

Mahmoud Bassal, a spokesman for the Civil Defense in Gaza, said that the investigation’s findings are not based on general estimates, but on meticulous forensic work. He added: “We enter the targeted house and compare the number of people inside with the number of bodies found. If the family says that five people were inside, and we only find three intact bodies, we consider the remaining two to have been ‘vaporized’ after a painstaking search that yields only biological traces such as bloodstains on the walls or small fragments like pieces of scalp,” according to the Common Dreams platform.
