The International Committee to Protect Journalists revealed in its annual report that “Israel” was responsible for two-thirds of the killings of journalists worldwide during the year 2025, an unprecedented statistic reflecting the scale of the systematic targeting of journalists.

The committee explained in the report that more than 60% of the journalists killed by “Israeli” fire during the past year were Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, confirming that “Israel” committed the largest number of targeted killings of journalists compared to any other forces since 1992.
The report indicated that “Israel” was responsible for 81% of the documented deliberate killings of journalists globally in 2025, figures that reflect the extent of the occupation’s effort to conceal the truth and falsify the reality of its criminality.
In a surprise revealed by the report, Yemen ranked second as the region that witnessed the most Israeli crimes against journalists, where “Israeli” raids on two media offices in Yemen resulted in the killing of 31 journalists and media workers, in the second deadliest documented attack globally during 2025.
The Committee to Protect Journalists revealed that “Israel” used unproven claims to justify the killing of journalists, noting that in some cases it relied on preemptive justifications before committing massacres in an attempt to cover up its crimes that deliberately target media professionals.
