International newspapers have highlighted the worsening humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, reporting UN warnings about the consequences of aid shortages and the lack of basic services as winter approaches. Meanwhile, reports indicate US support for Israeli control over the Strip in reconstruction plans.

The Washington Post reported warnings from the United Nations and other international organizations about the escalating humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip as winter approaches, due to severe shortages of tents, warm clothing, and food supplies.

The crisis is exacerbated by obstacles imposed by the Israeli occupation, which prevent the delivery of humanitarian aid, amidst collapsing infrastructure that increases the suffering of millions of civilians, including women, the elderly, and children.

The newspaper noted that thousands of tents were flooded by recent rains, tents that sheltered hundreds of thousands of families displaced by the war, severely jeopardizing their daily stability during the winter. Recent heavy rains have caused large quantities of water, some of it contaminated, to flood the streets and inundate camps, tents, and partially damaged homes, affecting more than 740,000 Gazans, according to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

The UN has warned of the risks of infectious diseases and malnutrition among children due to the lack of safe drinking water and the spread of contamination, stressing that the humanitarian crisis in Gaza could worsen significantly unless international aid is provided.
