Including the destruction of 1 000 facilities A human rights report documents Yemeni economic losses exceeding one trillion dollars due to the war on Yemen

The “Insan Organization for Rights and Freedoms” revealed at a press conference held today in the capital, Sana’a, that initial economic losses in Yemen have exceeded one trillion and 131 billion dollars, as a result of the war and the economic policies imposed by the war coalition on the country since March 2015.
Sana’a – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
The human rights report issued by the conference, titled “The Economic War on Yemen,” explained that airstrikes, naval, and air restrictions have caused the destruction of more than 1,000 economic facilities and infrastructure, in addition to the paralysis of supply chains and a record rise in the prices of basic goods.
It affirmed that the decision to transfer central bank functions to Aden led to the collapse of the currency and the suspension of salary payments for hundreds of thousands of employees, pushing poverty and unemployment rates to unprecedented levels.
The organization called on the international community to conduct independent investigations into economic violations and to obligate the coalition to lift the ban on ports and to ensure the neutrality of the economy as a red line that does not lapse over time. Meanwhile, the head of the Human Rights Commission announced during the conference that thirty secret prisons have been documented where torture is practiced against opponents of the coalition in the governorates under its control.
