Follow-ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
The Hebrew newspaper Jerusalem Post revealed serious repercussions of the Iranian strikes that targeted air defense systems and long-range radars, confirming that the destruction of “THAAD” systems and radars in the early days of the war highlights a new reality, which is fixed air defense assets have become easy targets for precision attacks.
The newspaper explained that Iranian ballistic missiles managed to destroy vital American radars used within missile defense systems in operations for detecting, tracking, and destroying aerial threats, which led to weakening the ability to monitor airspace.
It added that the precision of the Iranian strikes targeting those radars should serve as an alarm bell for the US’ allies in the region, particularly regarding the extent of these countries’ ability to protect their observation and early warning platforms, which are among the most important pillars of air defense systems.
The newspaper pointed out that replacing these damaged systems takes a long time, which could lead to a temporary decline in the ability to monitor and effectively deal with aerial threats.
It also noted that Iranian “Shahed” drones are capable of inflicting significant damage on radars, enough to render them inoperable for long periods, which increases the challenges facing air defense systems in protecting their sensitive infrastructure.
