Health Ministry announces October death toll in Gaza

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced that 143 Palestinians were killed and 674 wounded during October 2026, bringing the total number of fatalities since the ceasefire began on October 10, 2025, to 1,583, in addition to 5,696 wounded. The Ministry explained in its monthly report, issued by the Health Information Unit, that the October fatalities included 107 men, 23 children, 11 women, and two elderly people. It indicated that the 674 injuries during the month included 323 men, 190 children, 129 women, and 32 elderly people. The cumulative death toll since the start of the ceasefire until the end of October 2026 reached 1,583, including 1,031 men, 348 children, 154 women, and 50 elderly people. The total number of infected people reached 5,696, including 2,736 men, 1,731 children, 966 women, and 226 elderly people, noting that the total includes 37 infected people whose birth dates were recorded later.
