The Minister of Public Health, Rakan Nasser El-Din, stressed that the repercussions of the war are not limited to military confrontations, but extend to social, cultural, economic and psychological aspects, warning of disturbing indicators of the level of mental health, especially among children in shelters and some adults. “The war is not only with fire, the war has several aspects, social, cultural, economic and psychological,” Nasser El-Din said, while sponsoring the opening of the new psychological section at Al-Shifa Specialized Hospital in Aramoun. The opening of the new section included a scientific program and a panel discussion that dealt with psychological treatments and the importance of developing specialized care in this field. Nasser El-Din touched on the hospital coverage file, pointing out that the coverage rate was raised to 100% for the unsecured, and said, “When we raised the percentage, we did not want to differentiate between the Lebanese, the displaced and the non-displaced.” He explained that the greatest benefit from this step was recorded in the northern regions, where the percentage reached 27%, stressing that “what we want is partnership in this country.”
