The occupied Palestinian territories witnessed a night described by Israeli media as one of the “harshest” since the beginning of the war, following an Iranian missile attack that targeted two key sites in the south, leaving dead, hundreds injured, and widespread destruction.
In the occupied city of Dimona, urgent reports indicated that the number of injured settlers had risen to 51 as a result of intensive Iranian shelling and the direct fall of a missile, causing massive destruction in the area, according to circulating footage documenting the scale of damage.
In the occupied Arad area, Channel 12 Hebrew quoted its sources as saying that 9 people were killed and more than 100 others injured in an initial toll from the targeting of the city of Arad with a hypersonic missile.
Israeli authorities acknowledged that the missile carried a warhead weighing about half a ton of explosives, noting that two interceptor missiles failed to intercept it before it reached its target.
The shelling on Arad resulted in damage to nine buildings, four of which were completely destroyed, while emergency teams and Soroka Hospital declared a state of emergency to deal with the large number of the injured.
For its part, Channel 14 Hebrew reported that attempts to intercept missiles in both Dimona and Arad failed, leading to direct hits from ballistic missiles carrying warheads weighing hundreds of kilograms.
In the first official comment, the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard’s Aerospace Force, Majid Mousavi, announced what he described as his country’s “missile superiority,” affirming that “new tactics and launch systems used in the coming waves will terrify the American-Zionist leaders” and that the skies of the occupied southern areas “will remain illuminated for hours.”
