The Government Media Office in Gaza confirmed that the Israeli occupation has committed 497 documented violations of the ceasefire agreement since it came into effect last month, in direct violation of international humanitarian law.

In a statement issued today, the office explained that 27 violations were recorded yesterday alone, resulting in the deaths of 24 Palestinians and injuries to 87 others. This escalation reflects the occupation’s determination to undermine the agreement and create a bloody reality that threatens security and stability in the Gaza Strip.

The office noted that the occupation’s violations since the agreement came into effect have resulted in the deaths of 342 Palestinian civilians, the majority of whom are children, women, and the elderly, in addition to 875 injuries. Thirty-five Palestinians have also been arrested during incursions and raids.

The office condemned in its statement the ongoing Israeli violations and its blatant defiance of legal and moral obligations, holding the occupation fully responsible for the humanitarian and security repercussions of these violations. It warned against the continuation of these violations and called on the United States, mediators, and the Security Council to take immediate action to pressure the occupation to cease these violations.

It is worth noting that the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip came into effect on the 10th of last month, following more than two years of Israeli aggression that resulted in the deaths of over 69,000 Palestinians, injured more than 170,000, and caused widespread destruction affecting 90 percent of the infrastructure in the Strip.
