Gaza under bombardment

Palestinian sources in the central Gaza Strip confirmed that Israeli violations continue at varying rates across the Strip’s governorates, with ongoing military escalation and targeting of civilians. They explained that two brothers, children, were killed this morning in Khan Younis, according to Palestinian medical sources, after being targeted by an Israeli drone.

The sources indicated that the two children lived near Al-Farabi School, located in the area designated as a “yellow zone” west of the Green Line, which is not under actual Israeli military control. This constitutes a direct violation of international law, as it targets civilians in areas to which they are permitted to return.

She added that the eastern areas of Gaza City, specifically the Shuja’iyya and Zeitoun neighborhoods, were subjected to multiple airstrikes. She noted that the strikes targeted the eastern parts of Zeitoun and the Shuja’iyya area itself, which witnessed an advance by Israeli vehicles during the night, accompanied by heavy gunfire directed at the remaining residential neighborhoods without crossing the yellow line.

Furthermore, the Israeli occupation army expanded the yellow zone in Shuja’iyya, east of Gaza City. She confirmed that intermittent artillery shelling affected most of the eastern areas of the Gaza Strip, particularly the northeastern area, specifically east of Jabalia camp and Jabalia town.

These areas had been designated for the return of residents following the ceasefire in recent months, but the Israeli attacks have prevented this return and created a climate of fear among the population, especially with the continued use of armored vehicles rigged with explosives and the detonation of remaining residential areas.
