The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza confirmed that the Gaza Strip is going through an unprecedented phase of collapse, as the lives of more than two million people have turned into a daily journey with illness, hunger, thirst and death.
The harsh numbers alone are enough to draw the scene: more than 62,000 martyrs, and more than 158,000 infected people, about half of whom are women and children. She is overcrowded with wounded people who share it, and children sleeping on the floor in the corridors of hospitals.
Al-Wahidi reveals that the sector has officially entered the fifth stage of the famine according to the Global Food Security Classification (IPC),where more than 641,000 people face the risk of starvation, while dozens of deaths are recorded daily from starvation, many of them are among children who have been deprived of even a drink. Pure water, after the per capita daily stake fell to only five liters.
In a tone that reflects bitterness and betrayal, Al-Wahidi holds the international community responsible for the silence in the face of this humanitarian catastrophe, stressing that the medical aid that reaches Gaza “do not exceed 5% of the needs”, while the basic demand of the Ministry of Health remains to open the crossings and enter medicine. Food and evacuation of stranded patients, before all remaining resilience collapsed.
