The war on Iran Gasoline prices in America approach 4 per gallon with a jump exceeding 30
Follow-ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
Gasoline prices in the US continue their rapid rise, approaching the $4 per gallon threshold, after recording about $3.88 as of March 19, 2026, amid the repercussions of the war on Iran and the disruption of global energy supplies.
Reuters news agency reported that prices have risen by more than 30% since the beginning of March, with an increase of nearly 90 cents per gallon within a few weeks, reflecting an unprecedented acceleration in the pace of rise within the US market.
This escalation comes as a result of the escalation of military tensions created by America with the Zionist entity in the Middle East, which have directly impacted oil markets, especially with fears of supply disruptions and threats to vital shipping lanes, leading to higher transportation and insurance costs and reflecting on fuel prices.
Despite attempts by US President Donald Trump to curb the price increase, field developments have limited the effectiveness of those efforts, as pressures on the energy market continue.
Expectations indicate the possibility of prices exceeding the $4 per gallon threshold in the coming days, particularly with the continuation of the escalation and the absence of indications of an imminent truce, threatening further economic pressure on consumers in the US.
