Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
The US Treasury has published a list of seven Yemeni figures who have been included on the sanctions list.
The list is headed by the President of the Supreme Political Council, Mahdi Al-Mashat, and the member of the Council, Mohammed Al-Houthi, as well as members of the negotiating delegation, led by Mohammed Abdul Salam, Abdulmalik Al-Ajri, and Ishaq Al-Muroni, in addition to businessmen such as Abdul Wali Al-Jaber, the chairman of Al-Jabri General Trading and Investment Company and the chairman of the Sanaa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ali Al-Hadi, along with Khaled Jaber.
The White House had previously talked about adding Abdul Salam and Al-Mashat to the sanctions list.
The new American administration tried to justify the step, claiming that the persons included made arms deals with Russia, although it had preceded these steps with a new offer to Sana’a, which includes the cessation of Yemeni operations in support of Gaza in exchange for backing down from the designation.
