Amid escalating tensions a new Yemeni military parade on the Saudi border
On Monday, Yemeni forces carried out a military parade on the border with Saudi Arabia, coinciding with the return of tension between the two countries following Riyadh’s refusal to implement peace obligations and its push for internal escalation.
Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
The “Al-Masirah” channel, the spokesman for the Ansar Allah “Houthi” movement, reported that the border district of Shada with Saudi Arabia witnessed a combat exercise as part of the general mobilization, in addition to a popular march.
The parade was carried out in tribute to the name of the martyr, Major General Mohammed Al-Ghamari, the Chief of Staff, who was laid to rest today after his martyrdom in an aggression on the capital, Sana’a.
The parade came one day after a Saudi aggression on the district resulted in martyrs and wounded, according to media reports.
Although Yemeni cities have witnessed thousands of popular marches and military parades as part of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” batches during the months of confrontations with the Israeli occupation, this is the first time a parade has been held on the border with Saudi Arabia.
These developments come amidst intensifying tension between Sana’a and Riyadh, which has reached the point of hinting at military options.
Saudi Arabia rejects any attempts to transition from the truce, which was reached through regional mediation years ago, to achieving lasting stability in Yemen. Instead, it is currently pushing towards arrangements for military and economic escalation.
