Emirati hint at the Armed Struggle card against Saudi Arabia in Southern Yemen
Follow-ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
Emirati politicians and activists warned of the impending explosion of the situation in the city of Aden and various areas of southern Yemen, against the backdrop of the policies pursued by Saudi Arabia towards the Southern Transitional Council, which is supported by Abu Dhabi.
The Emirati political activist Bassam Al-Qahtani stated that the scene in the south heralds a serious popular escalation that could develop into an armed confrontation, anticipating that the coming days would witness moves aimed at expelling Saudi forces and the formations supporting them.
In a tweet posted on platform ‘X,’ Al-Qahtani clarified that “the indicators in the south point to a serious popular escalation that could reach armed struggle in the coming days, which is exactly what we fear.”
He added that “bombardment, systematic looting of wealth, political marginalization, and the imposition of a government reality that doesn’t represent the land or its people are sufficient factors to push any people to the brink of explosion.”
He confirmed that “the responsibility doesn’t lie with the street alone, but with those who possess the decision… for history doesn’t spare those who besiege peoples and are then surprised by their reactions.”
Al-Qahtani’s statements come at a time when the city of Seiyun witnessed a wide arrest campaign carried out by forces loyal to Saudi Arabia against activists supporting the Transitional Council, following their participation on Friday in protests denouncing Saudi policy, which included tearing up pictures of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
