Downing of a Turkish drone in Yemen

Yemeni forces managed on Sunday to strike a blow against Turkish industrial pride.
Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
The Armed Forces spokesman, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, revealed that air defenses succeeded in downing a Turkish “Bayraktar Akıncı” combat drone.
This reconnaissance and operations drone was shot down in Al-Jawf governorate on the Saudi-Yemeni border.
Brigadier General Saree explained that the operation was carried out with an appropriate weapon.
The Turkish drone was participating in the Saudi aggression on Yemen.
This is the first time a drone of this type has been shot down, after Turkey had boasted of its production over the past decade.
Saudi Arabia spent billions of dollars to acquire this drone.
The Bayraktar joins Chinese and American drones, most notably the “MQ-9,” of which more than 20 combat drones were downed at the height of the Yemeni-American confrontations extending into 2024.
